Weekend at Grandma and Pa's House

Abigail and I had the opportunity to go to Grandma and Pa's house this weekend (A.J. and Allan were home for some "man time"). We had a fun time with the grandparents, as well as with cousins Emily and Christian. Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Grandma and Christian:
Abigail was trying to teach Emily how to use a silkie. Of course, she was very clear that Emily was not allowed to take it home!
On Friday night, we enjoyed a trip to Tallahassee for dinner and playtime at Zoinks. All the kids (Kevin included) enjoyed the fun!
I am pretty sure Abigail took a bath about every 2 hours while we were there. Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but she loves to bathe at Grandma's. She has been asking me lately to wrap her hair in a towel like "Mommy do." However, her little head can't support a full bath towel with hair in it. However, Grandma to the rescue! Grandma had a speciality towel made for just this occasion. She loved showing it off.

Abigail's Hat

Abigail worked very hard to make this hat today. When she was done, she announced it was a marching band hat. I am quite sure she learned this from her brother!

Staying Up Late

A.J. was having trouble sleeping recently. However, who could fuss at a child for not going to sleep when he is reading his Baptist Hymnal and his Bible, and that is what is keeping him up??? We were in the other room watching T.V., and all we could hear was him singing all the verses to every song he knew the tune to. So, in his reading log for school that night, we signed "Baptist Hymnal" as the book he was reading. I figured if a first grader can read all those verses... it counts as reading!

Valentine's Day

We had a very exciting Valentine's Day with our family. We started the day with some goody bags (candy included, of course) and a scavenger hunt! The kids loved it. A.J. read all the clues and let Abigail try to figure them out. They did a great job working together. The clues led them to find tickets to the Auburn basketball game against Mississippi State (or Miss-a-yucky-state, as A.J. and Allan call it). Here are some pictures of the scavenger hunt and the game

And, they found the tickets under A.J.'s lunch menu on the fridge:

Thank you Jessica for the tickets. We had a great time! And, we were very glad Auburn did win the game.

Oh... and did I mention we also bought a new car this same day? Whew... it was a busy one!

TWIG Team

Our children's department led the worship service this past Sunday evening. They did a fabulous job. They sang some songs and led the congregation in praise and worship. And, the clip below is an AWESOME performance of "The Three Little Trees" by the TWIG team. You just have to see it. It is amazing. A.J. is the third woodcutter. (And try to ignore the youth taking up the offering... they walked in the way of the camera!)

"I Love Jesus, But I Drink a Little"

Yes, I love Jesus! But, no.. I don't drink. However, this clip is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. I usually like to keep my blog just about the family, but I couldn't resist posting this. It is worth your time to watch. So, no matter how you feel about Ellen.... this is really funny.

Super Bowl Commercial and A.J.

A.J. has always loved video clips where people get hurt. Since he was small, he has always loved the "falldown show" (known to most people as America's Funniest Home Videos). This year... he loved this Super Bowl Commerical and laughed so hard! I posted it on here so he can watch it over and over (and so I can delete the Super Bowl off of the DVR).

Personally... this is my favorite:
